About the Presenter:
Maurice's journey into the realm of public speaking and presentation began at a tender age of six when he took center stage in his school band, happily leading the band with a single drum amidst a sea of triangles and tambourines. His passion for performance blossomed further during his teenage years, where involvement in scouts, youth clubs, and amateur dramatics, led him to the stage, showcasing his versatility in Gang Show roles like Jill in a Jack and Jill skit, leaving a lasting impression despite the fortunate lack of photographic evidence.
As he navigated through social circles and university life, Maurice's involvement in various activities such as speeches, choirs, rock bands, and dramatics, honed his communication skills. While studying play production at university, he found himself drawn to both sides of the curtain, gaining experience in stage management alongside his performances as a folk and rock singer.
Maurice's journey took a pivotal turn when he joined the grammar school debating team, competing in prestigious competitions like the London Evening Standard's debating competition. His knack for persuasive speaking laid a solid foundation for his future endeavours in professional presentations.
In 1974, Maurice faced a significant challenge at a major international trade show, where he was thrust into the spotlight with only a day's notice to present a complex energy management building scheme to esteemed engineers. Despite the pressure, he delivered flawlessly, setting the stage for a career marked by confidence and expertise in public speaking.
His involvement in organizations like the Freemasons further sharpened his oratory skills, where formal dinners became arenas for polished speeches and toasts. Embracing opportunities in networking circles, Maurice seamlessly transitioned into delivering talks on marketing and other pertinent topics, earning a reputation as a captivating speaker.
In 2007, Maurice's journey came full circle as he joined a speaker bureau, utilizing his wealth of experience to assist aspiring speakers in refining their craft. Drawing from his background in altered mind space work and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), he developed techniques to empower others to communicate effectively on stage.
Maurice's expertise culminates in his upcoming seminar, where he shares his refined methodologies for delivering impactful presentations effortlessly. Through decades of experience and dedication, Maurice has not only mastered the art of public speaking but also empowered countless others to do the same.
