Chez Maurice

Welcome to Chez Maurice.

Chez Maurice, is a zoom meeting place which is aimed to behave a bit like a Parisian café in perhaps the 1930s. You can drop in for a whole session, about an hour and a half, or come and go as you need.

Entry is by invitation and, in time, will probably be via a subscription model, but for now it's free to all, as you will see below. However, there will be a group of founders who, subject to regular attendance, will be free for life. It's purpose, is to talk about, and share, all things marketing. Problems, needs, new initiatives, basis and advanced principles: whatever the patrons, want to talk about!

It meets on:- 1st and 3rd Tuesday every month 10.00 to 11.30 GMT

In a sense, "Chez Maurice" is a tribe for Maurice and Melville Marketing, but more importantly, it's a space for marketers and those who need marketing to socialise, share ideas, and learn best practice, and funky new stuff, from others present.

The rules for entry are quite simple:- you (or whoever you want to invite for membership) provide your real name (no aliases company names or nicknames - we want authenticity) and an email address to [email protected] , for now, until we install the necessary automation on this website, which is part of the complete rebuilding of the site, which, you might have noticed, is making the Melville Marketing site, less than perfect, at the moment.

There is also a What'sApp Group that goes with The Chez Maurice, Weekly zoom sessions. This is the link to join that too but but acceptance will, as above, require you to provide [email protected] with a, real name, email address, and WhatsApp mobile number, at the earliest opportunity to remain in the group. If you can't trust group members, to do the right thing, please don't join.

Bring problems, or queries, or, come to share new ideas and initiatives, affecting Marketing. Since this is effectively a networking or social environment, not a marketplace to pitch to; sales pitches are not welcome as are unsolicited elevator pitches.

However if you are networking properly, when you are in a networking event what happens is that when you find somebody interesting you ask them questions which might include who are you what you do what you hope to get from this meeting what sort of contacts are you looking for and last but not least how can I help you do that? If you are lucky and in the right room the person you are talking to will want to know the same thing from you.

So, to make everybody's life easier, I suggest that all members put a bio, probably not more than 500 words, into the WhatsApp group and, in the same group, provide links to their own LinkedIn profiles.

From time to time, in the Zooms, I’ll be doing talks/presentations on, my takes on marketing, sales, and networking, but these will be driven by attendee’s wishes and concerns.

Guest presenters, and info sessions, are also on the cards where they add value to the group.

Please note that all meetings will be held under the Chatham House Rule

For the moment, these meetings are free and will be forever free for the first 20 applicants who will be our “Founders”.  To maintain Founder status an average of at least 1.5 meetings a month over 6 months rolling, will be required.

Any changes to this rule will be notified to all participants, if, and when, it changes.
